Pukey McPukerson

Lee and I have been on pins and needles all weekend. I can honestly say we have hovered over Elle - more so than usual. She has been throwing up with her feeds and it is terrifying. Worrying over Elle doesn't really bring out the best in me. I haven't exactly been the nicest person to be around this weekend! We called the cardiologist on call at TCH this afternoon. Their concern isn't so much that she is throwing up - more that she might get dehydrated. It's weird - she doesn't throw up with every feeding - and if she does throw up - it's usually in the middle of the feed. I don't know what's going on with our little one! It might be withdrawals from her pain medicine. Lee and I don't think we were sent home with the incorrect dosage on one of Elle's pain medicines. She was getting .6ml of one of the pain meds in the hospital and when we got home - they dropped it down to .2ml. That's a big jump in pain meds on her little body. But it could also be the fact that she is super congested. Who knows! The cardiologist on call said to watch her and if we feel like she is getting dehydrated - bring her in to the ER...if not...wait until we see our cardiologist tomorrow for her normal appointment. Her stomach doesn't seem to be bothering her and she is her usual smiling, talking, wiggling self. This afternoon we decided to keep the ball rollin' with the baby foods. The occupational therapists had started feeding her bananas in the hospital - so Lee and I decided to brave the throwing up factor and feed her bananas. We didn't know if she was going to keep it down - but she did - thank goodness! She is such a funny little girl and keeps us laughing all day long (even during the puking sessions)!!

OMG she gets cuter everyday and she looks so big now!!! Sitting up in her chair eating solid foods...where did the time go?? These pictures make me smile! I am thinking about printing them and putting them on my desk so when I get stressed Elle makes me smile!

o my goodness! bananas! i know she loved those! i do not know if you would like this advice. i have docs tell me the thing w/ dehydration is if they are not peeing enough, their lips are not as pink and plump as they usually are. lethargic. poor elle. the throwing up thing could be b/c of her being congested. aww! i am so glad ya'll are at home. keep us posted on the cardio appointment. prayers are you ya'll. bonny
